Controlling RGBW LED modules smarter and more efficiently than ever
Using DALI Device Type 8 (DT8) mode for controlling RGBW LED modules brings clear advantages: The number of addresses required is significantly lower, and the color control stands out due to its superior user-friendliness. With the addressable DALI system, multiple RGBW modules can now be efficiently managed through a single control interface. This consolidated approach to address allocation reduces the number of addresses that need to be handled by DALI controllers. The streamlined addressing process thus minimizes wiring complexity while optimizing the overall system performance. Additionally, this type of color control in DALI DT8 allows for intuitive and precise color adjustment: Users can easily select and mix different hues in the program, as well as transition seamlessly between them. This perfect combination of efficiency and ease of use takes the overall lighting experience to a whole new level, making it particularly advantageous for dynamic lighting applications.
By introducing this innovative DT8 RGBWAF “Extended” mode, we at Inventronics have managed to further enhance the “Normalized” operating mode. Developed in-house by Inventronics, this DALI-compatible innovation allows full power to be delivered to all connected channels, optimizing the output flux of the LED modules. In contrast, previously, the “Normalized” DT8 RGBWF setting evenly distributed the total output power across all connected channels. Unfortunately, this resulted in a significant limitation of the output power per channel, and thus also of the output light flux of the connected LED modules.
This innovative new feature will be rolled out step by step in our 24 V constant-voltage LED DALI 4-channel drivers:
